Our Regulatory Services are responsible for several different enforcement functions to keep our communities safe and ensure that businesses in our boroughs are compliant with regulations. We have strong links with Council partners and work with Public Health, the Police, Fire Brigade, Neighbourhood Watch and local charities and voluntary agencies to keep residents safe, promote consumer confidence and maintain good business relationships. Areas of work include; environmental protection such as air quality and contaminated land, enviro-crime, food safety, food standards, health and safety at work, trading standards, licensing, noise and nuisance, and private sector housing conditions as well as delivery of the councils Disabled Facilities Grant programme. We carry out inspections of commercial and residential premises and use intelligence to target resources on tackling national and local priorities and issues.

Our Regulatory Services Shared Service with Sutton Council is made up of 7 teams:
- Licensing - licensing premises and people in the boroughs
- Housing Residential - protecting tenants in private rented accommodation
- Home Improvement Agency - adapting homes to benefit those who are elderly or who have disabilities
- Pollution - ensuring pollution in the borough is within legal limits to maintain a clean environment
- Environmental Enforcement - action taken against fly tipping and unlicensed street trading and other environmental crime
- Food and Safety - ensuring high standards of food hygiene and safety in our business premises
- Trading Standards - ensuring goods and services that are provided are fair and safe
